This September, a busload of Icelandic Roots volunteers from North America will be traveling around Iceland to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Icelandic Roots and connect with our team members who live in Iceland.
We will visit important heritage sites, meet others who live in Iceland, bond closer as a team, and give back to the home of our ancestors.
We will have five public events where we will “give back” with five Emigration Port Ceremonies. At each location, we will donate plaques in Icelandic and English and give $500 USD to the community to enhance the area of the plaques. Ideas for the grant include planting trees, landscaping, pathways, placing a bench, etc.
